How is my old freezer connected with your 2020 success?
Have you fallen into the trap of over planning and under achieving in the past? I have done that many times myself.
Do you feel that you have been pushing a huge rock up a steep hill? Have you overplanned too many times and underachieved? Are you beyond fed up? I get it, I have been in that place too many times.
I tell my clients that they are working far harder than me with far less to show for their efforts. This is because the tools that you are using work for other people, but not for your ADHD brain. Stop fighting with yourself, and start living the life that you don’t even dare to dream of.
For 2020, howabout doing it a little differently, more geared towards your ADHD brain…
Decluttering is a very powerful way to shift energy and refocus. I had 2 210 litre freezers. They used to be full. When my 5 children were little I used to cook a lot in advance. Over the last 2 years I noticed that I cook more “last minute.” One freezer was hardly used. in the last 2 years. I realised the other day, that I really don’t need the second one anymore. I decided to give it away. It has served me well for the last 8 years, now time to move on. Not an easy decision, but I am very glad that I did it.
My front hall is long and narrow. When my children come in, they kick their shoes off, and leave them in the hall. I am sick and tired of picking up the shoes after them. I bought an over the door shoe tidy, that hangs over a door adjacent to the hall. If that does’t work, I will get a shoe rack as my daughter suggested, and put it in the hall, even if it is unsightly. Practicality wins over looks, in my house.
This morning I put out 4 suitcases that are not in prime condition but still usable. They have been taken already.
Being “stuck” is an ADHD challenge. Decluttering is very therapeutic. It helps you to move on, I call it “transition” from one phase to another. Decluttering expands your vistas, shifts energy and makes you more open to the opportunities that are being sent to you.
